Witt Gas Controls Appoints Norm Phelps as President to Lead North American Operations!
Witt Gas Controls has announced the appointment of Norm Phelps as President, with responsibility for overseeing all North American operations. Norm Phelps brings more than two decades of experience in international commercial leadership and industrial manufacturing to the role. His appointment reflects Witt Gas Controls’ focus on combining technical expertise with strong commercial execution as demand grows for reliable, standards-compliant gas management solutions across sectors such as metalworking, process industries, energy, and advanced manufacturing. As president, Phelps will be responsible for driving business growth, strengthening customer relationships, and aligning regional operations with the company’s long-term strategic objectives.
Prior to his promotion, Phelps joined Witt Gas Controls in 2025 as Vice President of Sales and Marketing. In that role, he played a key part in expanding the company’s commercial reach, strengthening go-to-market strategies, and enhancing customer engagement across North America. His elevation to president builds on this momentum and ensures continuity in leadership as the company scales its operations.
Before joining Witt Gas Controls, Phelps served as Global Commercial Director for the Molten Metal Systems business at Morgan Advanced Materials, where he was responsible for global sales strategy and commercial performance in a highly technical and process-driven environment. Earlier in his career, he held senior leadership roles including Vice President of Sales at Plibrico Co. and General Manager for a North American division of Imerys S.A.. Across these roles, he gained extensive experience managing complex product portfolios, leading multi-disciplinary teams, and operating in markets where safety, reliability, and technical performance are critical.
Phelps’ academic background further complements his professional experience. He holds a bachelor’s degree in materials science and engineering from Penn State University, providing him with a strong technical foundation that aligns well with Witt Gas Controls’ engineering-led product offerings. He has also completed the executive development program at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, strengthening his capabilities in strategic leadership, finance, and organizational management.
