SEKISUI CHEMICAL CO, led by President Keita Kato, has unveiled plans for its sixth manufacturing facility in India. The new plant, located in Pune, Maharashtra, will specialize in producing injection-molded components for the automotive sector under SEKISUI DLJM MOLDING PRIVATE LIMITED. With a planned investment of $3 million, the facility is set to begin operations in January 2026.
This expansion is a significant part of SEKISUI CHEMICAL’s strategy to enhance its injection molding business, a crucial component of the High-Performance Plastics division. With India’s automotive sector experiencing rapid growth, the company aims to tap into the increasing demand for automobile parts. SEKISUI DLJM MOLDING, a joint venture between SEKISUI CHEMICAL and Dipty Lal Judge Mal Private Limited, has been operational since 2011, consistently growing alongside India’s expanding motorization and automotive markets.
Pune, known as a hub for major automobile manufacturers, has been chosen as the ideal location for the new plant due to its established industry presence and the anticipated growth in the region. The new SEKISUI CHEMICAL facility will increase production capacity in India by 15%, supporting further expansion in the market. Situated in the Chakan District, the plant will cover a total area of 10,044 square meters, with a dedicated production floor spanning 6,288 square meters. The plant will focus on manufacturing injection-molded parts for both automobiles and motorcycles, catering to the growing demand in the region.
This new plant is a crucial part of SEKISUI DLJM MOLDING’s long-term strategy to boost production capacity and revenue. The company has set a target of $130 million in net sales by the fiscal year 2030, largely driven by the operations of the new facility. This ambitious goal reflects SEKISUI DLJM MOLDING’s commitment to further expanding its footprint in the Indian automotive market, as the country’s motor vehicle production and sales continue to rise.
SEKISUI DLJM MOLDING is a joint venture between SEKISUI CHEMICAL (51% stake) and Dipty Lal Judge Mal Private Limited (49% stake). Established in 2011, the joint venture has rapidly grown, with the new Pune facility set to enhance its existing operations. Currently, the company operates four sites with five plants as of March 2025, reflecting the increasing demand for high-quality injection-molded products in India. As the automotive industry continues to thrive in India, this expansion will strengthen SEKISUI CHEMICAL’s position in the market.
Dipty Lal Judge Mal Private Limited, a key partner in the joint venture, has a long history in manufacturing and selling a wide range of injection-molded products, including components for consumer electronics. The company has a strong track record, with capital investment of 45 million rupees and 428 employees as of April 2025. In fiscal year 2024, it reported sales of ¥13.6 billion, based on a conversion rate of 1.77 yen to 1 rupee. This strong performance positions Dipty Lal Judge Mal Private Limited as an integral partner in SEKISUI CHEMICAL’s ongoing success in India.
SEKISUI TECHNO MOLDING, a wholly owned subsidiary of SEKISUI CHEMICAL, plays a pivotal role in the company’s global injection molding operations. Established in 1962, the company produces a wide variety of injection-molded products, including automotive parts, logistics components, and products for civil engineering. SEKISUI TECHNO MOLDING is a significant contributor to SEKISUI CHEMICAL’s overall success, with sales totaling ¥21.8 billion in 2024. The company’s expertise and global presence further solidify SEKISUI CHEMICAL’s leadership in the industry.
With the new Pune facility, SEKISUI CHEMICAL continues its commitment to expanding its operations in India, catering to the growing demand for high-performance injection-molded products in the automotive sector, and supporting the country’s industrial development.
