Toshiba Transmission & Distribution Systems India Private Limited (TTDI) has been honoured with the National Award for Outstanding Export Performance at the 57th EEPC India National Awards for the financial year 2024–25. The recognition marks the seventh time the company has received the prestigious award, highlighting its continued contribution to India’s engineering exports and its growing role as a global manufacturing hub for advanced power transmission and distribution equipment.

TTDI secured the top award in Group 10, which covers Electrical Machinery and Parts for Large Enterprises. Organized by the Engineering Export Promotion Council of India (EEPC India), the awards recognize companies that have demonstrated exceptional export performance and significant contributions to India’s engineering and manufacturing sectors.

The award was presented by Manjinder Singh Sirsa to Hiroshi Furuta during the national awards ceremony. TTDI stated that the recognition reflects the company’s long-standing commitment to manufacturing globally competitive power transmission and distribution solutions in India while supporting the Government of India’s “Make in India” initiative.

Accepting the award on behalf of the company, Hiroshi Furuta emphasized that the recognition reinforces Toshiba’s commitment to strengthening India’s role as a major global manufacturing and export base for high-quality electrical and energy infrastructure equipment. He noted that TTDI has evolved into an important manufacturing and engineering center within the broader global transmission and distribution operations of the Toshiba Group.

According to Furuta, transformers and switchgear systems produced at TTDI’s Indian manufacturing facilities are currently being supplied to infrastructure and energy projects in more than 50 countries worldwide. This expanding international reach reflects the increasing competitiveness of India’s electrical equipment manufacturing sector in global markets.

TTDI also stated that it remains focused on supporting the worldwide transition toward cleaner, more reliable and efficient energy systems through continued investment in engineering excellence, innovation and advanced manufacturing capabilities.

Operating from its manufacturing facility in Rudraram, Telangana, the company produces a broad portfolio of power transmission and distribution products, including power transformers, distribution transformers, gas-insulated switchgear systems, surge arresters and protection and automation solutions.

In addition to equipment manufacturing, TTDI provides integrated packaged and turnkey solutions that support large-scale energy infrastructure development and power grid modernization projects. The company has also highlighted its growing focus on advanced technologies such as outdoor-type gas-insulated switchgear systems designed for open installations, which are becoming increasingly important for renewable energy integration and modern transmission networks.

Industry analysts note that India’s electrical equipment manufacturing industry has gained substantial momentum in recent years as global companies increasingly view India as a reliable manufacturing, sourcing and export destination. Rising global investments in renewable energy, grid modernization and electrification initiatives are further driving demand for advanced transmission and distribution infrastructure solutions.

The growing emphasis on clean energy transition and energy security across global markets is also creating significant opportunities for companies involved in power infrastructure manufacturing and engineering. Products such as transformers, switchgear systems and automation technologies are expected to play a crucial role in supporting future energy networks and renewable integration projects.

TTDI’s continued recognition at the national level underscores the company’s strong export performance, manufacturing capabilities and contribution to strengthening India’s position within the global energy infrastructure and engineering manufacturing ecosystem.
