Design and Software International merges with NexGen Solutions to expand manufacturing software expertise!
Design and Software International (DSI) and NexGen Solutions have announced a merger to form a unified CAD/CAM software and services organization operating under the DSI brand. The strategic move is intended to strengthen capabilities across the manufacturing software lifecycle while expanding service reach throughout North America.
With the combined expertise of both companies, DSI aims to enhance its presence as an Autodesk partner while delivering broader technical support to manufacturers navigating increasingly complex production environments. The merger deepens the organization’s capabilities in CAM programming, postprocessing, machine simulation, additive manufacturing, data and lifecycle management, and production-driven automation.
Customers will benefit from an expanded services model that includes on-demand expert support, structured training programs delivered virtually or onsite, end-to-end manufacturing process consulting and custom workflow automation solutions. These offerings include bespoke CAM programming and post solutions tailored to specific machines, production teams and operational requirements. The combined organization supports manufacturers throughout the product development cycle, from design and validation to change order tracking and production execution.
Jon Caliguri, president and CEO of DSI, described the merger as a timely alignment of complementary strengths amid major shifts in North American manufacturing. He noted that reshoring efforts are accelerating while artificial intelligence and smart technologies are driving predictive analytics, automation and operational efficiency. By integrating NexGen’s expertise, DSI is positioning itself to help customers manage digital transformation initiatives and improve competitiveness in advanced manufacturing.
Matt Salentine, president and CEO of NexGen Solutions, emphasized that both organizations bring practical, shop-floor-driven experience to the merger. He highlighted the expanded access to specialized expertise in CAD/CAM, simulation, additive technologies, robotics and automation as a key benefit for customers seeking faster, more confident adoption of new technologies.
During the transition, the NexGen Solutions name and website will remain active to ensure continuity of service and minimize disruption. Over time, programs, support channels and training resources will be integrated into a unified DSI framework.
Beyond Autodesk-based solutions, DSI also provides access to complementary technologies, including additive simulation tools, robotic additive systems and machine tool code verification platforms. The company works within a broad manufacturing partner ecosystem to deliver integrated digital manufacturing solutions.
The merger positions DSI as a more comprehensive technology partner for manufacturers seeking to modernize operations, improve efficiency and accelerate innovation across design, engineering and production workflows.
