The Canadian government is assisting in the deployment of a coast-to-coast network of charging stations along roads and in public locations, on-street, in multi-use residential buildings, at businesses, and for car fleets. To date, the government has backed the installation of about 45,000 chargers across the country.

Canada’s Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Jonathan Wilkinson, announced a $229,356 investment in Hypercharge to install 48 Level 2 EV chargers in 11 parking lots across Southern Ontario. Hypercharge supplied additional funding, bringing the total project value to $458,712.

“We’re making electric vehicles more affordable and charging stations more accessible in communities where Canadians live, work, and play.” Investing in more EV chargers, such as these in Ontario, will put more Canadians in command of a strong, healthy net-zero future,” stated Minister Wilkinson.
