Mahindra Group Appoints Purnima Lamba as Chief Brand Officer!

Mahindra Group has announced the appointment of Purnima Lamba as its new Chief Brand Officer, effective September 1, 2026. In her new leadership role, Lamba will be responsible for driving the group’s global brand strategy, corporate communications, and storytelling initiatives as Mahindra continues to strengthen its presence across international markets and diverse business sectors.

The appointment reflects Mahindra Group’s focus on building a stronger and more unified global brand identity while enhancing engagement with customers, stakeholders, and digital audiences worldwide. As Chief Brand Officer, Purnima Lamba will lead efforts to shape and manage the company’s corporate brand positioning and communication strategies across all its business verticals.

Her responsibilities will include developing a cohesive and consistent brand narrative aligned with Mahindra’s long-term vision, corporate values, and business ambitions. She will also focus on reinforcing the group’s purpose-driven identity while ensuring brand consistency across Mahindra’s broad portfolio of companies and operations.

A key aspect of her role will involve enhancing Mahindra’s visibility and communication effectiveness across both traditional and digital platforms. As global businesses increasingly prioritize integrated branding and digital engagement, the company aims to further strengthen its connection with consumers and stakeholders through more impactful storytelling and strategic communication initiatives.

Welcoming the appointment, Dr. Anish Shah, Group CEO and Managing Director of Mahindra Group, highlighted Lamba’s extensive international experience and leadership capabilities.

According to Dr. Shah, her combination of strategic thinking, consumer insight, creativity, and global brand expertise makes her well-positioned to support Mahindra’s evolving brand ambitions. He noted that as the company continues to build a compelling global brand narrative aligned with its growth objectives, her ability to transform insights into impactful brand strategies will be highly valuable to the organization.

Purnima Lamba joins Mahindra Group after an extensive 25-year career with Unilever, where she held several senior leadership positions across India, the United Kingdom, and the Netherlands. During her tenure, she gained significant experience in brand management, digital transformation, media strategy, and consumer engagement across global markets.

She is particularly recognized for her work in developing tech-enabled beauty experiences and implementing digital media strategies that strengthened brand visibility and consumer interaction worldwide. Her experience working across international markets is expected to bring a global perspective to Mahindra’s branding and communication initiatives.

The appointment comes at a time when Mahindra Group continues to expand its presence across sectors such as automotive, farm equipment, technology, financial services, hospitality, logistics, renewable energy, and real estate. As the company grows its international footprint and invests in future-focused industries, building a strong and unified global brand identity has become increasingly important.
