Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. has announced the opening of a new robotics sales and service facility in Gurugram, Haryana, marking a significant step in the company’s efforts to strengthen its industrial automation and robotics business operations in India. The move reflects Yamaha Motor’s growing focus on supporting advanced manufacturing technologies and expanding its presence in the country’s rapidly developing automation sector.

The newly established Robotics Business Support Division has been set up within Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt. Ltd., the company’s Indian subsidiary responsible for managing its motorcycle and mobility product business in the country. Through this new division, Yamaha aims to enhance sales operations, strengthen after-sales service capabilities, and improve customer support for its industrial robotics portfolio in India.

According to the company, the facility has been launched to streamline robotics business operations while creating a stronger local support structure for industrial customers. The initiative is also part of Yamaha Motor’s long-term strategy to expand its robotics and automation footprint in one of the world’s fastest-growing manufacturing markets.

India’s manufacturing industry has been witnessing rapid transformation in recent years, driven by increasing industrial automation, digital manufacturing adoption, and government-led initiatives focused on strengthening domestic production capabilities. Yamaha Motor believes this evolving industrial landscape presents significant opportunities for robotics and factory automation technologies across multiple sectors.

Initially, the new Robotics Business Support Division will focus on supporting SMT (Surface Mount Technology) assembly systems and industrial robots used in electronics manufacturing and precision automation applications. Over time, the company plans to gradually expand operational capabilities to include semiconductor back-end processing equipment, reflecting the growing importance of semiconductor manufacturing and electronics production in India.

Yamaha Motor stated that while India’s robotics and automation market continues to experience steady growth, there remains considerable potential to expand awareness of advanced industrial robotics technologies and increase market penetration. By establishing a dedicated local support facility, the company aims to improve customer engagement, provide faster technical assistance, and strengthen service responsiveness for industrial clients.

The new Gurugram facility also includes a dedicated showroom where customers can experience Yamaha’s latest robotics and automation technologies firsthand. The showroom is designed to demonstrate industrial robotics systems and help manufacturers better understand how automation solutions can be integrated into modern production environments.

Through live demonstrations and technical showcases, Yamaha intends to help customers evaluate automation systems based on their specific operational needs. The company believes that providing practical exposure to robotics technologies can help manufacturers identify solutions to improve production efficiency, enhance process consistency, and address labour and productivity challenges.

Globally, Yamaha Motor has been steadily expanding its robotics and industrial automation portfolio across sectors such as electronics manufacturing, semiconductor processing, and factory automation. Its robotics business includes SMT assembly systems, industrial robots, and semiconductor-related equipment developed for high-precision manufacturing applications.

The company’s expansion into India’s automation sector comes at a time when manufacturers across industries including automotive, electronics, industrial machinery, and consumer products are increasingly investing in automation technologies to improve competitiveness and operational efficiency. Rising demand for smart manufacturing systems, precision assembly solutions, and advanced production technologies has accelerated the adoption of robotics in Indian manufacturing facilities.

By opening the new robotics sales and service facility in Gurugram, Yamaha Motor is positioning itself to play a larger role in India’s industrial automation ecosystem while supporting the country’s transition toward advanced and technology-driven manufacturing operations.
