Based in Pune, Pawar will lead the company’s overall technology strategy and innovation roadmap. His appointment comes as Greaves Cotton advances its Greaves.NEXT strategy, which is focused on enhancing core operations, accelerating growth, and building long-term competitiveness through advanced engineering, digital transformation, and next-generation mobility solutions.

In his new role, Pawar will oversee initiatives related to product development, platform innovation, and digital capability building across the group’s businesses. He will also play a critical role in supporting the company’s transformation agenda as it expands into emerging mobility and engineering segments.

A major area of focus will be the development of E-powertrain systems and future mobility technologies, reflecting the company’s increasing emphasis on electrification and sustainable transportation solutions. The appointment highlights Greaves Cotton’s intention to strengthen its presence in rapidly evolving automotive and mobility markets where connected systems, electrification, and software integration are becoming increasingly important.

Pawar brings nearly 30 years of industry experience across automotive electronics, industrial automation, embedded systems, and connected mobility technologies. Before joining Greaves Cotton, he held senior leadership positions at Spark Minda Group, where he managed technology and business functions related to automotive innovation and advanced mobility systems.

His professional background includes managing global engineering programs, building technology teams, and contributing to advanced product development projects across India and Europe.

In addition to his technical expertise, Pawar holds qualifications in instrumentation engineering, an MBA in technology management, and additional specialisation in artificial intelligence and machine learning. His experience in connected technologies and digital systems is expected to support Greaves Cotton’s efforts to build future-ready mobility platforms and intelligent engineering solutions.

Company leadership stated that technology and innovation remain central to the organisation’s long-term growth strategy. The appointment reflects a broader focus on strengthening internal technology capabilities while positioning the company to respond to evolving customer expectations and industry trends.

As the automotive and engineering sectors continue transitioning toward electrification, connected systems, and software-defined mobility, companies are increasingly investing in advanced R&D and technology leadership to remain competitive. Greaves Cotton’s decision to appoint an experienced technology executive underscores the strategic importance of innovation in driving future business growth and market positioning.
