Sandvik Coromant has expanded the CoroDrill® DE10 range with two new geometries, the -M5F and -M5C — improving the drill’s versatility as a plug-and-play solution for short-hole drilling across all materials.
CoroDrill® DE10 is an interchangeable-tip drill featuring a pre-tension interface that allows for quick, secure tip changes and consistent performance across a broad range of applications.
The -M5F geometry is designed for flat-bottom holes and advanced uses, such as start holes on complex parts and stepped-hole arrangements. The -M5C geometry is intended for cast iron, with strengthened corners and improved wear resistance through grade GC3334 — and it also works alongside the -M5 geometry in ISO P, M, and S materials where extra corner strength is needed.
“Our geometries are the result of extensive R&D and patented design work,” says Mikael Carlsson, Global Product Specialist for Indexable Rotating Tools at Sandvik Coromant. “They give customers high productivity, long tool life and consistent performance — even at the upper end of cutting parameters.”
The expanded assortment enables more precise application optimisation without sacrificing ease of use, while also helping to lower cost per hole, reduce CO2 emissions, and decrease carbide consumption through longer tool life.
