McDowell Machining Technologies has now introduced the ProfiMill Evo, WaldrichSiegen’s latest high-speed hydrostatic gantry portal milling machine that combines proven ProfiMill series technology with innovative Herkules Monolith™ construction for foundation-free installation.
The ProfiMill Evo delivers exceptional machining capabilities within a compact footprint, featuring a 5m width and 2m height clearance – a scaled model will be on show at MACH. Despite its space-efficient design, the machine offers impressive specifications, including a spindle with 2,750Nm maximum torque, 80kW and speeds up to 6,000rpm with other options also available, and an impressive traverse rate up to 40m/min on both X and Y axes, enabling highly productive operations.
With travel distances of 7.5 by 5 by 2m in X, Y and Z-axes, this impressive new model enables remarkable machining performance on large workpieces. The axes incorporate hydrostatic guidance to deliver exceptional precision that is combined with astounding cutting rates, making the ProfiMill Evo suitable for everything from finishing operations to heavy-duty roughing.
Built on the existing ProfiMill modular system, all milling heads are fully compatible with the masterhead interface that presents a fully integrated C-axis for extremely flexible machining. WaldrichSiegen can also develop specialised milling heads for demanding requirements, whilst the integration of a universal milling head with a B-axis transforms the machine into a highly flexible 5-axis machining centre.
With a machine still available with a short delivery lead-time, the ProfiMill Evo from McDowell Machining Technologies is equipped with the new Siemens Sinumerik ONE control system that allows for complete digital integration. CAD/CAM compatibility with digital twin technology boosts productivity while preventing collisions.
