Mastercam has released Mastercam 2026.R2 — the second instalment in its new semi-annual release cycle, designed to put major capabilities in customers’ hands faster than ever before.
The headline addition is GPU-accelerated simulation, which significantly cuts verification times. In testing, a process that took nearly 90 minutes with CPU simulation was completed in just over 22 minutes using GPU acceleration — maintaining full accuracy while freeing up production schedules on complex, multi-operation parts.
Mastercam Copilot introduces AI automation to routine programming tasks. Using voice or text commands, machinists can modify feed rates and spindle speeds across various operations, construct complete machine groups from verbal descriptions, and activate hands-free control with a simple keyword. Copilot supports around 200 toolpath types and also searches the myMastercam video library, providing timestamped answers linked directly to relevant training content.
Further enhancements include multi-axis improvements — automatic tilting with bullnose endmills, improved 4-axis Swarf milling and smarter clearance plane calculations — as well as support for Blum laser tool setters across major CNC controls, including FANUC, Siemens, Okuma, Heidenhain, Mazak and Makino.
Mastercam 2026.R2 is available now as a free update for all customers on an active Mastercam CONNECT maintenance plan.
