Bull Moose Tube Company, one of North America’s leading manufacturers of steel pipe and tubing products, has announced an agreement to acquire Hanna Steel Corporation, a prominent producer of structural and mechanical steel tubing. The strategic acquisition is expected to significantly strengthen Bull Moose Tube’s manufacturing footprint, expand its product offerings, and enhance its ability to serve customers across a broad range of industrial and construction markets.
The transaction, which is expected to close in early third quarter 2026 pending customary closing conditions, includes Hanna Steel’s manufacturing operations in Alabama and Illinois, its coil-coating facility in Alabama, and Hanna Truck Line, Inc., the company’s dedicated in-house transportation fleet. Upon completion of the deal, Hanna Steel will operate as a division of Bull Moose Tube Company, ensuring continuity while leveraging the combined strengths of both organizations.
The acquisition represents another important milestone in Bull Moose Tube’s long-term growth strategy. By bringing together two well-established companies with complementary capabilities, the transaction is expected to create a stronger platform for future expansion while improving operational efficiency and customer service.
According to Bull Moose Tube President and Chief Executive Officer John Krupinski, Hanna Steel’s assets, experienced workforce, strong industry reputation, and extensive product portfolio make it an ideal strategic fit. He emphasized that the acquisition aligns with the company’s objective of enhancing value for customers while expanding its manufacturing capabilities and market presence.
The combination will unite two organizations that share a strong commitment to safety, quality, customer service, and continuous improvement. Both companies have built longstanding reputations within the steel industry by delivering reliable products and maintaining close relationships with customers across multiple sectors. By integrating their operations, Bull Moose and Hanna Steel aim to create a more efficient and responsive organization capable of meeting evolving market demands.
One of the key benefits of the transaction is the increased flexibility it will provide in serving customers. Hanna Steel’s manufacturing assets and specialized capabilities will enable Bull Moose Tube to better address complex customer requirements, support larger-scale projects, and expand production capacity in key product categories. The acquisition is also expected to improve supply chain efficiency through the addition of Hanna Truck Line, providing enhanced logistics capabilities and greater control over product distribution.
Andy Annakin, Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer of Bull Moose Tube, noted that the acquisition will strengthen the company’s ability to meet changing customer needs while improving execution on sophisticated projects. As demand continues to evolve across construction, infrastructure, industrial manufacturing, and energy markets, the expanded organization will be better positioned to deliver high-quality steel tubing solutions with greater speed and flexibility.
The transaction marks Bull Moose Tube’s third major investment in recent years, reflecting a broader strategy focused on sustainable growth and market leadership. Chairman Ambar Paul highlighted that the acquisition continues a pattern of strategic expansion designed to deepen manufacturing capabilities and strengthen the company’s position as a leading steel tube producer. He emphasized that the investment demonstrates Bull Moose Tube’s commitment to long-term growth and its confidence in the future of the steel industry.
For Hanna Steel, the acquisition represents an opportunity to build upon a legacy that spans decades. Vice Chair Jill Cunningham described the transaction as an exciting new chapter for the company’s customers, employees, and suppliers. She noted that joining forces with Bull Moose Tube combines Hanna Steel’s reputation for consistency and customer service with the scale, resources, and manufacturing strength of a larger organization.
The deal also reflects ongoing consolidation within the steel and manufacturing sectors, where companies are increasingly pursuing strategic acquisitions to enhance competitiveness, expand geographic reach, and strengthen operational capabilities. By combining complementary assets and expertise, organizations can achieve greater efficiencies while providing broader solutions to customers.
