Star Micronics GB Backs Pride of Yorkshire Art Trail

Tuesday 9 June 2026, 3:50:58 PM

The Pride of Yorkshire art trail has officially launched, with Star Micronics GB proudly sponsoring the ‘Roar Like a Blade’ exhibit at Bramall Lane, sitting alongside the ‘Lioness of the Lane’, sponsored by Accident Solicitors Direct Limited. These striking lion sculptures, designed by David Gee, feature intricate references to Sheffield’s football heritage, team history, and fan culture.

The initiative not only celebrates local culture but also marks an important milestone for Sheffield Children’s Hospital as it approaches its 150th anniversary in 2026. To honour this legacy, the trail features 150 life-sized lion and lioness sculptures crafted by artists from across South Yorkshire and beyond, along with 150 cubs created by schools and community groups. This spectacular event aims to raise £2.8 million for the Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity.

As part of the Children’s Champions Club, Star Micronics GB supports this incredible effort, acknowledging the vital work done at the hospital for children and their families. The Pride of Yorkshire campaign stands as one of the UK’s largest ever free public art trails, inviting the public to explore and collect all 150 lions. Participants can also enjoy rewards from local businesses upon completing the trail.

For those keen to engage with the trail, further information and registration for rewards are available on prideofyorkshire.org.
