INKAS has unveiled a new mine-resistant ambush protected (MRAP) vehicle developed in collaboration with KNDS Mobility, marking a significant step in strengthening NATO interoperability and allied defence cooperation. The new platform combines Canadian armoured vehicle engineering with French mobility architecture to create a highly adaptable and mission-ready solution for modern military operations.

Headquartered in Toronto, INKAS designed the platform to meet the evolving operational requirements of NATO and allied defence forces. The vehicle has been engineered for deployment in high-threat environments, offering a balance of survivability, mobility, and flexibility while supporting seamless integration across multinational military operations.

The MRAP platform delivers 360-degree ballistic and blast protection in accordance with NATO STANAG standards, ensuring enhanced protection against mines, improvised explosive devices (IEDs), and ballistic threats. Despite its high level of armour protection, the vehicle maintains strong off-road mobility and maneuverability, enabling reliable performance across complex and challenging terrain.

A key strength of the platform is its modular architecture, which allows it to be configured for a wide range of mission profiles. These include troop transport, reconnaissance, command and control, medical evacuation, and specialised tactical operations. This adaptability enables defence forces to tailor the vehicle to specific operational requirements while simplifying logistics and fleet management.

The collaboration also highlights the growing importance of international industrial partnerships in the defence sector. By integrating proven French mobility systems with Canadian systems integration and armour expertise, the project demonstrates how allied nations can combine capabilities to accelerate the development of NATO-compatible defence technologies.

According to company leadership, the vehicle reflects a broader strategic focus on interoperability and operational readiness. NATO-aligned components and engineering standards ensure that the platform can integrate effectively with allied defence infrastructures and support joint military operations across different regions.

The launch further strengthens INKAS’ position as a defence systems integrator capable of delivering advanced deployable solutions through international collaboration. The company continues to expand its role within the defence industry by combining global engineering expertise with advanced manufacturing and armoured vehicle technologies.

Overall, the introduction of the new MRAP platform underscores the increasing demand for versatile, interoperable, and highly protected military vehicles in modern defence operations. By focusing on modularity, survivability, and alliance compatibility, the collaboration between INKAS and KNDS Mobility aims to support the operational needs of NATO forces while reinforcing defence cooperation between Canada and France.
