Luminous Power Technologies Expands Manufacturing Footprint in Odisha to Power Clean Energy Growth!
Luminous Power Technologies has reinforced its commitment to eastern India by advancing its manufacturing footprint in Odisha, positioning the state as a key hub for solar innovation and energy storage solutions. The announcement was highlighted during a government event in Khordha, where the company showcased its expanding capabilities and next-generation energy technologies.
Odisha has emerged as a strategic location for Luminous, supported by favourable policies, improving infrastructure, and rising adoption of renewable energy. The company views the state not only as a manufacturing base but also as a gateway to India’s broader clean energy ecosystem, aligning with the country’s transition toward a low-carbon future.
According to Vivek Abrol, CEO and Managing Director, Odisha plays a crucial role in the company’s long-term strategy. He emphasised that ongoing investments in the region reflect Luminous’ commitment to supporting India’s clean energy ambitions while contributing to local economic development and resilient energy infrastructure.
As part of its expansion, Luminous is developing two major manufacturing facilities in the state. In Angul, the company is setting up an advanced plant focused on next-generation energy storage technologies, aimed at addressing growing demand for efficient and reliable power solutions. Meanwhile, in Gopalpur, it is establishing a solar cell manufacturing facility to strengthen domestic production and reduce reliance on imports within the solar value chain. Both projects are in advanced stages and are expected to become operational soon.
At the Khordha event, Luminous showcased its comprehensive solar solutions portfolio catering to residential, commercial, and industrial segments. This includes on-grid, off-grid, and hybrid systems, along with advanced products such as Topcon bifacial solar panels, high-performance inverters, long-life batteries, and its Connect X digital monitoring platform. These offerings reflect the company’s focus on innovation, efficiency, and sustainability.
Beyond manufacturing, the expansion is expected to generate employment opportunities, support skill development, and contribute to the region’s industrial growth. By building local capabilities, Luminous aims to create a strong ecosystem that supports both economic progress and clean energy adoption.
