Varroc Engineering Limited has announced the appointment of Avijit Roy as Group Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), reinforcing its focus on building a future-ready, people-centric organisation. He will report to Arjun Jain and lead the company’s global HR strategy across India and key international markets.

In his new role, Roy will be responsible for shaping Varroc’s people agenda, with a strong emphasis on organisational capability, leadership development, and talent transformation. His mandate includes fostering a high-performance culture aligned with the company’s ambitions in a rapidly evolving, technology-driven mobility ecosystem.

Roy succeeds Kavita Kulkarni, who served as Group CHRO for seven years. During her tenure, she played a pivotal role in strengthening Varroc’s talent framework, advancing leadership development, and building a resilient global workforce. The company acknowledged her contributions in shaping a robust and future-focused people strategy.

Commenting on the appointment, Arjun Jain highlighted that Varroc’s growth and innovation are driven by its people. He noted that Roy’s experience in building agile, high-performing organisations will be instrumental as the company enters its next phase of expansion, ensuring sustainability from a human capital perspective.

Avijit Roy expressed enthusiasm about joining Varroc at a critical stage in its transformation journey. He emphasised the importance of integrating human insight with evolving technologies to create a future-ready organisation, while fostering a culture that empowers employees and drives long-term value creation.

Roy brings more than 27 years of experience across the automotive and manufacturing sectors, having held senior HR leadership roles in global organisations. Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President – Global Human Resources at Aditya Birla Group, where he led large-scale people strategy initiatives across 14 countries and multiple business units.

His earlier roles include Regional HR Head – Asia, where he drove transformation programs, supported international expansion including entry into new markets such as China, and managed complex workforce and industrial relations strategies across manufacturing operations.

This leadership transition underscores Varroc’s commitment to investing in its people and culture as a key driver of sustainable growth. By strengthening its HR leadership, the company aims to enhance organisational agility, support innovation, and reinforce its competitive position in the global automotive industry.
