Murata Machinery USA Inc. (Muratec USA) has announced a series of strategic leadership changes designed to strengthen its vision, accelerate growth, and further expand its presence across North America. Effective October 1, 2025, Keiji Yuasa has been appointed president and CEO of Muratec USA, bringing with him more than 20 years of global leadership and operational expertise cultivated within the Murata Machinery organization.
Yuasa’s journey with the company began in 2005, and over the years he has held several pivotal roles, including serving as managing director of Murata Singapore Pte. Ltd. and contributing to corporate planning within Human Resources Japan. These roles enabled him to build strong cross-functional relationships and gain deep insights into multiple business divisions across the Muratec Group. His leadership style emphasizes collaboration, innovation, and long-term strategic thinking—qualities that position him strongly to guide Muratec USA into its next phase of development.
Yuasa succeeds Toshiyuki Komori, who led Muratec USA for four and a half years, contributing significantly to organizational growth and technological advancement. Komori has returned to the parent company, Murata Machinery Ltd. (MML) in Kyoto, Japan, where he now serves as executive sales manager for Turning in the Machine Tools Division. His transition ensures continued synergy between Muratec USA and MML, strengthening the global framework of the organization.
Upon assuming his new role, Yuasa expressed his commitment to advancing Muratec’s mission. “I am honored to lead Murata Machinery USA at such an exciting time,” he said. Highlighting the company’s legacy of innovation, Yuasa emphasized Muratec’s dedication to delivering “end-to-end automation solutions” that not only enhance operational efficiency but also support sustainable, long-term success for customers across North America.
Alongside the CEO transition, Muratec USA also announced key leadership updates within two major business divisions. In the Textiles Division, industry veteran Chuck Butts has been appointed director of operations. With more than 30 years of experience—rising from field technician to sales manager—Butts brings valuable expertise and continuity to the division. He also plays an active role in industry associations, including the National Council of Textile Organizations and the Southern Textile Association Board of Governors. Former director of operations David Stalvey, who has dedicated 37 years to Muratec USA, will continue supporting the division as textiles advisor, ensuring a smooth and knowledgeable transition.
In the Logistics and Automation (L&A) Division, Kazuyuki Uratani has been named general manager, effective November 3, 2025. With over 33 years at Murata Machinery Ltd., Uratani has been instrumental in driving factory automation sales since 2018 and has led key initiatives, particularly within the EV battery industry. His vision focuses on sustainable growth and strengthening Muratec USA’s footprint across the North American automation landscape. Former general manager Masatoshi Wakabayashi will continue contributing as executive director, bringing decades of global leadership experience to guide the division’s ongoing advancement.
With these leadership transitions, Muratec USA is poised to enhance its innovation, reinforce strategic capabilities, and deliver greater value to customers across all business segments.
