Kennametal HARVI™ 1TE – the multifunctional end mill

For high performance milling of steel, Kennametal has now introduced its new HARVI™ 1TE series of solid carbide four flute end mills. The new HARVI™ 1TE is an enhancement upon the existing HARVI™ series, incorporating a proprietary end face design with a twisted cutting edge that increases corner stability and performance. With a number of new features, the proprietary end face design with a twisted cutting edge on the new HARVI™ 1TE permits a soft cutting action, even at the highest ramping angles. Adding to this, Kennametal have developed a proprietary core design that increases tool stability for heavy duty machining. The HARVI™ 1TE also has an innovative end face design with asymmetrically divided flutes and a variable helix angle that enables vibration dampening and impressive feed rates. The new end mills have a proprietary relief with Kennametal’s AVF-Technology, this precision faceted eccentric relief further reduces vibration and friction, providing excellent cutting conditions in multiple materials. The universal end milling line has a flute design with chip gashes within the flutes that reduce cutting forces and supporting efficient chip evacuation during heavy duty machining. Suitable for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron and high-temperature alloys with high feed rates, the HARVI™ I TE claims to be capable of reaching unmatched metal removal rates. Available in diameters from 6 to 20mm, the straight shank range is available with a number of coating grades, corner radii, flute and shank lengths to meet the needs of the respective user.
