Machining PEEK: Starrag’s Bumotec 191neo can produce complex med-tech parts in one go!

Precision machining at its “PEEK!”

This material may look like plastic, but it’s not! It’s Polyether Ether Ketone (PEEK). Widely used in the med-tech industry, PEEK material is used to create this spinal cage – a piece that fits inside the spine to replace a disc.

These parts are machined on none other than the Starrag Bumotec 191neo machine, and Lee Scott of Starrag is here to tell us all about it. Watch the video to learn how Starrag precisely produce various sizes of spinal cages as a finished component off the machine in one automated process!
