Four operations on a VMC or one operation on a Star sliding head?

When demand surged for one of their key parts, Restormel Machine in Cornwall knew their four-operation VMC process wasn’t going to cut it anymore.
The switch to a Star SB20 sliding head lathe transformed it into a single-operation, bar-fed, automated process.

We’re talking compact footprint, live tooling, and up and running within weeks of ordering. MTDCNC’s Lyndsey Vickers speaks with David Winter of Restormel Machine and Matt Lee of Star Micronics to find out how the right machine and the right support turned a process headache into a no-brainer.
