All British Precision Ltd has set a new benchmark in precision manufacturing by attaining 106 hours of unmanned production. The impressive achievement was made possible through the integration of the Star ST-38 sliding head lathe, a recent addition that has replaced the company’s original Star machine after 15 years of reliable service.

Located in the United Kingdom, All British Precision continues to excel in producing components that meet stringent tolerances, better than 5 microns for some of their most demanding parts. The extended period of unmanned operation underscores the company’s confidence in both their manufacturing processes and their skilled workforce.

The decision to upgrade to the Star ST-38 follows a long history of using Star machines, showcasing a commitment to investing in high-quality equipment to meet the evolving demands of precision engineering. The 106-hour record marks a significant improvement over the previous benchmark of 72 hours, highlighting advancements the company has made in both technology and operational efficiency.

The development was highlighted during MTDCNC’s visit to the company’s facilities. The team at All British Precision expressed gratitude for the collaboration and anticipation of sharing detailed results in an upcoming case study.

All British Precision Ltd continues to lead the way in innovative manufacturing practices, capitalising on decades of experience and cutting-edge technology. The introduction of the Star ST-38 lathe signifies an ongoing commitment to excellence and precision, further solidifying the company’s position within the industry.
