ZF Names Doru Tașcă as President of Japan Operations to Drive Strategic Growth and OEM Partnerships!

ZF has officially appointed Doru Tașcă as the new President of ZF Japan, effective August 1, 2025, further strengthening its commitment to the Japanese automotive market. In his expanded leadership role, Mr. Tașcă will oversee all facets of ZF’s operations in Japan while continuing as the Global Key Account Executive for Japanese OEMs (JOEM) — a dual responsibility that highlights his strategic importance within the organization.

Mr. Tașcă first joined ZF in 2020 as the Key Account Executive for Toyota and has since made a mark by scaling his responsibilities across all major Japanese automotive clients. His leadership has been instrumental in building strong, strategic relationships with OEMs and implementing initiatives that reflect both customer needs and ZF’s innovation-first philosophy.

With over two decades of experience in Japan’s automotive sector, Mr. Tașcă brings a rare combination of local expertise, cross-cultural insight, and global program management acumen. He is now tasked with steering ZF Japan’s commercial strategy while ensuring seamless coordination with global accounts. His appointment comes at a time when the automotive industry is undergoing transformative shifts driven by electrification, automation, and sustainability.

Commenting on his new role, Mr. Tașcă expressed gratitude for the opportunity and underscored his focus on agility, customer value, and collaboration. He also highlighted the critical role played by ZF’s local Japanese teams in driving innovation and market alignment, noting that their deep technical knowledge and responsiveness will be key to navigating ongoing industry changes.

Michael Neumann, Executive Vice President – Sales and Customer Development at ZF, conveyed full confidence in Mr. Tașcă’s capabilities. “His strategic clarity and customer-first approach have consistently delivered results. As the industry grows more complex, Doru’s leadership will ensure we stay ahead of the curve in the Japanese market,” said Neumann.

ZF Japan, established in 1966, has long been a cornerstone of the company’s regional success. With seven locations, including a specialized engineering center, ZF Japan supports advanced technology areas such as braking systems, steering, chassis control, ADAS, and safety electronics. The company’s continued collaboration with Japanese OEMs has helped tailor global innovations to meet regional mobility demands, ensuring ZF’s offerings remain high-performance, reliable, and future-ready.

Doru Tașcă’s elevation to President marks a strategic milestone for ZF Japan, reinforcing the company’s intent to grow its market presence and deepen its partnerships with key automotive players in one of the world’s most competitive and innovation-driven markets.
