Zaytran Inc. has launched the Xray-S-5800 robotic gripper, engineered to support large-part automation with higher accelerations, heavier loads and faster transfer velocities. The new double-rail gripper is designed to meet the growing demands of advanced robotic systems handling oversized and high-mass components in industrial production environments.

As manufacturers increasingly automate the handling of larger workpieces, robotic end-of-arm tooling must withstand higher forces generated during rapid acceleration and deceleration. The Xray-S-5800 addresses these challenges with a gripping force of 1,300 pounds per jaw, providing secure and stable part retention even in dynamic motion conditions.

A key feature of the gripper is its new CDA bronze-based synchronizing system, which enhances the durability of the precision mechanism. This upgraded system is designed to extend service life while maintaining consistent gripping accuracy, helping reduce maintenance requirements and unplanned downtime in high-volume operations.

The Xray-S-5800 also incorporates dual machine-tool bearing rails, enabling it to sustain significant side and moment loads. These loads are commonly generated during multi-G acceleration and deceleration cycles in robotic transfer applications. By reinforcing structural stability, the dual-rail design improves reliability during large-part handling and minimizes deflection that could compromise positioning accuracy.

This robust construction allows robots to operate at higher velocities while maintaining part stability, supporting faster cycle times and improved throughput. In applications where components are transferred between machining stations, assembly cells or inspection systems, reducing cycle time directly impacts overall production efficiency.

Designed for integration into large robotic automation systems, the Xray-S-5800 provides manufacturers with a solution capable of balancing strength, precision and speed. Its ability to handle heavy moment loads while sustaining high accelerations makes it suitable for industries working with large castings, structural components and other high-mass parts.

With the introduction of the Xray-S-5800, Zaytran expands its portfolio of heavy-duty robotic gripping solutions aimed at increasing throughput and maintaining reliability in demanding automation environments.
