Wintriss Controls Group has introduced its new Tracker hardware solution, specifically designed to improve the performance of its ShopFloorConnect software for overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) and production tracking. This cutting-edge hardware solution simplifies and maximizes data collection while minimizing operator involvement, ultimately streamlining production processes and enhancing operational efficiency.
The Tracker device enables seamless and automatic data collection across various production parameters, significantly reducing the need for manual input. For example, users can select from several preprogrammed digital inputs, such as run/idle, and counting, as well as analog inputs like temperature, pressure, voltage, and electrical current. These capabilities make the Tracker device especially effective in metal forming and fabricating operations, where accurate tracking of process data is critical.
With the ShopFloorConnect software, the Tracker device captures and tracks important process information, making it easily accessible to operators and managers. This integration ensures that production teams can access relevant data in the format that suits their needs and preferences, enabling them to make informed decisions quickly.
One of the most significant advantages of the Tracker solution is its ability to automate data collection without requiring operators to manually enter job information or downtime reasons. This automation helps to eliminate potential errors and inefficiencies that can arise from human input.
For instance, a fabricator who installed Trackers on four air compressors used run/idle digital inputs to receive a signal whenever each compressor was running. Additionally, they used analog inputs connected to a pressure transducer to monitor air pressure. This setup allowed the Tracker to collect crucial data about the duty cycle and pressure of each compressor, which was then sent to the ShopFloorConnect software. The system helped the fabricator adjust air usage to balance the load across the compressors, optimizing their overall performance.
The Tracker device is equipped with Wi-Fi capabilities, making it easy to integrate into existing and new ShopFloorConnect installations. Whether applied to existing machines or new equipment, the Tracker can be implemented with minimal setup. Its user-friendly design ensures that operators can quickly incorporate it into their workflows without significant disruption or training requirements.
Keith Magnant, General Manager of Wintriss Controls Group, stated, “Based on customer feedback seeking a reimagined, easy-to-use hardware solution for tracking a range of inputs, we developed the new device to enable unique machine data to be automatically sent to ShopFloorConnect software.” This development underscores the company’s commitment to delivering solutions that simplify and enhance production processes for manufacturers.
The Tracker is customizable to accommodate a wide variety of industrial applications. It offers flexible input options that can be tailored to different production environments, ensuring that manufacturers can track virtually any type of machine data with precision. The ShopFloorConnect software, paired with the Tracker hardware, allows manufacturers to gain deeper insights into their operations, leading to improved overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), increased productivity, and reduced downtime.
With the introduction of the Tracker hardware solution, Wintriss Controls Group has taken another significant step toward simplifying industrial automation and enhancing data-driven decision-making in manufacturing. The integration of ShopFloorConnect software with Tracker hardware offers manufacturers an intuitive and efficient way to collect and analyze machine data in real time, enabling them to optimize their operations. Whether it’s improving machine performance, reducing downtime, or enhancing product quality, the Tracker is a game-changer for manufacturers looking to stay ahead in today’s competitive market.
