Walter has expanded its Walter FMT standard polycrystalline diamond (PCD) milling cutter line with the introduction of the MP270, MP271, and MP470 tools. These tools are specifically designed to reduce cutting forces and minimize machining vibrations, thanks to their optimized geometries, making them ideal for achieving high-quality surface finishes in various milling applications.
The MP270, MP271, and MP470 cutters are engineered to improve the precision and efficiency of milling operations. Each tool is equipped with brazed PCD cutting edges, offering exceptional durability and performance, particularly in applications requiring high-quality surface finishes. These tools are suitable for machining nonferrous metals such as aluminum, aluminum-silicon alloys, magnesium, magnesium-based alloys, as well as plastics and fiber-reinforced plastics.
Each tool is designed with solid carbide shanks for enhanced stability and precision.
Key Benefits
The MP270, MP271, and MP470 cutters are particularly well-suited for industries such as automotive, aerospace, and general mechanical engineering, where high-quality surface finishes and precision are crucial.
Walter’s WDN20 grade enhances the wear resistance of these PCD cutters, ensuring they maintain peak performance over extended periods. The long service life helps reduce production downtime and tool replacement costs, driving overall productivity and efficiency in manufacturing processes.
Walter also offers a range of other FMT PCD milling cutters including:
These tools are available in various configurations, including cylindrical shank and screw-fit adaptations, providing a versatile and reliable solution for different machining needs.
Walter’s expanded range of PCD milling cutters is designed to meet the demanding needs of industries requiring high-performance, cost-effective, and durable tooling solutions. With tools like the MP270, MP271, and MP470, manufacturers can achieve optimal results in machining a wide range of materials while benefiting from longer tool life and reduced maintenance costs.
