Vested Metals, a leading raw material specialty steel and metals supplier, is excited to announce the opening of its newest Sales and Service Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana. This expansion marks a significant milestone for the company, further solidifying its presence in the Midwest and enhancing its ability to serve the growing demands of the automotive, industrial, medical, defense and government contracting, aerospace, energy, and transportation sectors.
Located just 30 minutes from the Indianapolis International Airport, the new facility spans 20,000 square feet, complementing Vested Metals’ existing 18,000 square feet facility in Whitestown, Indiana, which opened in 2016. Together, these joined facilities create a comprehensive 28,000 square feet center dedicated to providing exceptional service and support to customers and distributor partners. The new Sales and Service Center is strategically positioned near major manufacturing hubs such as Chicago, Indianapolis, and Detroit, as well as Warsaw, Indiana—known as “The Orthopedic Capital of the World.” This prime location allows Vested Metals to reduce lead times, offer competitive rates, and efficiently meet the high-quality demands of its diverse clientele.
Viv Helwig, President of Vested Metals, expressed enthusiasm about the expansion: “This new location will allow us to expand our product offering and capabilities and better service our customers in the Midwest and beyond. Fort Wayne is a strategic nexus for our customers West of the Mississippi, enabling us to provide faster delivery and maintain our commitment to high-quality products.” The Fort Wayne center is equipped with advanced processing saws for precision cutting, tumbling services to refine product finishes, and an upgraded packaging department to ensure materials are safely and securely shipped. Additionally, Vested Metals will now offer local flatbed truck delivery with its own fleet and dedicated staff, enhancing its logistical capabilities and customer service.
The expansion includes the creation of the Center for Machining Excellence (CME), which fosters intentional collaboration among Rego-Fix’s partners and promotes industry cross-pollination. This initiative is expected to shorten innovation and time-to-market timelines, particularly benefiting customers in the aerospace and defense sectors where precision is paramount. Derek Minter, Southeast Account Manager for HWR Workholding USA Inc., highlighted the facility’s mission: “The CME offers a fresh perspective on how manufacturers and distributors can work together by sharing ideas, solving problems collaboratively, and finding synergies between our technologies that benefit the machining community.”
David McHenry, Senior Engineer and CME Manager at Rego-Fix USA, added, “We have been seeing a lot of work being done on rockets, especially engines, which require the highest precision. Our new facility is equipped to support these demanding applications, ensuring that our customers receive the best possible tooling solutions.”
Founded in 2014 by Viv Helwig, Vested Metals has rapidly grown to become a trusted name in the specialty metals industry. The company has consistently been recognized for its growth, earning a spot on Inc. Magazine’s 5000 fastest-growing companies list for five consecutive years (2019-2023). Vested Metals prides itself on its core value, “People Are Forever,” emphasizing the importance of building lasting relationships and contributing positively to the communities where it operates.
Vested Metals continues to offer an extensive range of solutions tailored to meet the diverse electronics manufacturing needs of both Indian and global Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs). These include product design, rapid prototyping, PCB assembly, box builds, and customized end-to-end services such as RFID tags, high-frequency magnetic components, repair, rework, and automatic tester development services. This comprehensive suite of services ensures that Vested Metals can support its customers at every step of the product life cycle, delivering innovative and reliable solutions that drive operational efficiency and business growth.
“We are thrilled to join the business community in Fort Wayne,” shares Viv Helwig. “Something we take pride in at Vested Metals is doing good where we do business. Our first and most important core value is ‘People Are Forever.’ We’re excited to become a part of a growing community and be active partners in its success.”
The new Sales and Service Center is located at 6450 Innovation Boulevard, Suite 102, Fort Wayne, Indiana, and celebrated its official opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on October 24, 2024. Vested Metals plans to host a future open house to showcase its new facilities and capabilities to the local business community and industry partners.
