UX Design Awards 2022 for 24-inch, multi-touch C.O.R.E. panel similar to a smartphone

United Grinding Group’s C.O.R.E. has been nominated for the UX Design Awards 2022, which recognizes exceptional user experience. The company says the solution standardizes operation of all its machine tools, with a 24-inch, multi-touch C.O.R.E. panel offering controls similar to a smartphone and personalized customization options. The panel features a minimum of buttons, and the virtual function keys are only displayed when needed. The role-specific interface comes with the option of limiting the display to relevant information for the user role. It also features an integrated front camera, which enables support via video calls directly from the panel.

Judges for the UX Design Award, presented by the International Design Center Berlin (IDZ), selected C.O.R.E. as one of 101 nominees from a pool of 300 submissions. “We are quite proud of this nomination,” says Christoph Plüss, CTO of the United Grinding Group. “For years, a large, group-wide team of software, hardware and process experts has been working diligently on C.O.R.E. with the target to create real added value for our customers in the area of user experience. We’re very pleased to hear that we have succeeded.”

According to the company, C.O.R.E. opens up new possibilities for networking, controlling and monitoring the production process, and thus for process optimization. It it also said to lay the foundations for the operation of modern IoT applications. The United Grinding Group says it has set itself the goal of actively shaping the digital future and making its customers even more successful along the way.
