Tungaloy Expands TungSpeed-Mill Series with Small-Diameter, Extra-Close Pitch Cutters for Enhanced Productivity!

Tungaloy-NTK America has expanded its TungSpeed-Mill series with the introduction of small-diameter, extra-close pitch cutters, designed to boost productivity in challenging automotive and industrial machinery applications. The new cutters, available in diameters of 40 mm (z=8), 50 mm (z=10), and 63 mm (z=14), feature high tooth counts for improved cutting efficiency and performance.

The TungSpeed-Mill cutters are constructed with a lightweight steel body, offering both strength and rigidity while reducing weight compared to conventional cutters. This design enables better performance on smaller machines, such as BT30, without sacrificing cutting power. The tool is well-suited for machining aluminum alloy components commonly found in industries like aerospace and automotive, as well as for electronic enclosures.

With diameters ranging from 40 mm to 160 mm and up to 34 cutting edges, the TungSpeed-Mill cutters are capable of achieving cutting speeds exceeding 3,000 m/min, particularly for aluminum alloys and non-ferrous materials. The inclusion of an extra-close pitch cutter reduces machining time, further enhancing productivity. Additionally, the large number of inserts distributes cutting resistance more evenly, providing greater stability during the machining process.

Weighing in at just 3 kg (including the arbor), the TungSpeed-Mill is designed to stay within the automatic tool changer limits of compact BT30 machines, making it an ideal solution for smaller, high-speed applications that require both power and efficiency.
