Tungaloy Enhances Machining Stability with New Grooving Tool Series!

Tungaloy, a leading manufacturer of cutting tools, has introduced new PVD grades for its popular TetraForceCut and TetraMiniCut grooving series, designed to significantly improve machining stability, tool life, and surface quality. These new additions are set to enhance the productivity and versatility of the tools, making them ideal for a wide range of applications, including external grooving, parting-off, face grooving, threading, and custom profiling.

The TetraForceCut and TetraMiniCut series are equipped with four-edge grooving inserts and a robust three-point clamping system that ensures optimized indexing accuracy, insert stability, and repeatability. This advanced clamping technology makes the tools highly reliable and capable of delivering consistent performance, even in challenging cutting conditions.

The newly added PVD grades—AH8005, AH7025, and AH6235—are engineered to address different machining needs and improve overall tool efficiency:

  • AH8005: This grade is optimized for high-speed machining. It offers exceptional wear resistance and superior performance under stable cutting conditions, making it perfect for operations that require rapid machining without compromising tool life.
  • AH7025: Designed as a balanced, general-purpose grade, AH7025 provides a blend of wear resistance and fracture toughness. It is suitable for a wide range of materials and applications, making it an excellent choice for general-purpose machining operations.
  • AH6235: This grade is particularly designed for high-strength materials and interrupted cuts. It offers excellent toughness and extended tool life, making it ideal for demanding applications involving tough materials or operations with frequent tool interruptions.

Tungaloy’s new grades are designed to complement the company’s innovative 3D chipbreaker technology, which optimizes chip control, reduces machining forces, and minimizes burr formation. This combination results in smoother cuts, less rework, and better overall efficiency in the machining process.

Furthermore, the tools are available with a through-coolant toolholder option (“-CHP”), which maximizes cutting efficiency by improving chip removal and prolonging tool life, even in the most demanding machining environments.

The expanded TetraForceCut and TetraMiniCut lineup supports a wide range of groove widths from 0.33 mm to 4 mm and depths of up to 10 mm. This provides increased versatility, enabling these tools to be used for both small and large component machining, thereby catering to various industrial needs.

With these new PVD grades and advanced features, Tungaloy has further solidified its commitment to providing customers with high-performance cutting tools designed to boost productivity and precision in various manufacturing sectors. Whether for general-purpose machining or high-performance applications, the TetraForceCut and TetraMiniCut series offer a reliable solution for achieving excellent machining results.
