The Partner Companies Acquires Precision Eforming to Strengthen Micro-Component Manufacturing Capabilities!

In a strategic move aimed at expanding its micro-component manufacturing expertise, The Partner Companies (TPC), a U.S.-based advanced manufacturing group, has announced the acquisition of Precision Eforming, a legacy American manufacturer known for its specialization in electroformed sieve and mesh products. The acquisition was finalized in June 2025 and represents TPC’s 11th acquisition since its founding in 1997.

Headquartered in Cortland, New York, Precision Eforming is a pioneer in electroforming — an additive manufacturing process that builds high-precision metal components using electrodeposition. This capability allows the company to produce ultra-fine mesh products with exceptional accuracy, tight tolerances, and high repeatability. These products play a critical role in applications that filter or separate light, air, sound, and powdered materials — with significant end-use across aerospace, medical, defense, electronics, and energy sectors.

The acquisition aligns with TPC’s vision of building a diverse manufacturing group with expertise across a wide array of specialty processes. With operations across the United States, China, Mexico, and Wales, TPC continues to reinforce its global footprint while remaining focused on innovation and customer-centric manufacturing.

Precision Eforming’s story is rooted in American industrial history. Originating in 1907 as part of the Buckbee-Mears Company in St. Paul, Minnesota, the firm was a trailblazer in photo-engraving and later metal etching. During World War II, the company advanced photo-chemical reproduction technology to support the U.S. military, and in the 1960s, it embraced electroforming to support the rapidly growing television electronics industry.

In 2002, the electroforming division was relocated to Cortland, and in 2004, it was acquired and rebranded as Precision Eforming in partnership with Torridon Companies. Julie Griffin, who took over as president in 2011 and later assumed ownership in 2015, has been instrumental in guiding the company through its recent evolution. Griffin will continue in her leadership role during the transition phase.
