Tenneco, a leading global automotive supplier, has appointed Arvind Chandra as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of its India operations. This includes overseeing key business units such as Clean Air, Monroe Ride Solutions (MRS), Champion Ignition, and Powertrain (Bearings and Seals) in the region. Chandra will be responsible for steering Tenneco India into the next phase of its strategic growth within the country, which continues to be a key market for the company.
Arvind Chandra brings decades of experience in the automotive industry, having held senior leadership roles at several prominent organizations, including Delphi, Wabco, Faurecia (now Forvia), and Minda Corporation. Most recently, Chandra served as the India CEO for Aliaxis Group, where he demonstrated his leadership in manufacturing, marketing, sales, engineering, and global business planning. Chandra’s expertise spans several aspects of business development, positioning him to play a crucial role in advancing Tenneco’s presence in India.
Commenting on Chandra’s appointment, Jim Voss, CEO of Tenneco, stated, “India continues to be a critical growth engine for Tenneco. Arvind’s leadership, global perspective, and deep understanding of the Indian automotive ecosystem will help us scale further, innovate faster, and deliver greater value to our customers and partners across the region.”
Chandra’s appointment marks an important milestone in Tenneco’s strategy to deepen its presence in India. The company sees India as a key market for growth, where it is investing in both manufacturing capabilities and expanding its employee base to better serve both domestic and international customers.
Alongside Chandra’s appointment, Rishi Verma, the President of Tenneco India, will continue to lead day-to-day operations while directly reporting to Chandra. Verma’s role will expand to include overseeing the piston, rings, and valve seats and guides (VSG) businesses within the Powertrain solutions unit in India.
The company’s leadership structure beneath Verma remains unchanged, ensuring continuity in Tenneco’s operations while reinforcing the company’s long-term commitment to growth in India. Tenneco’s multiple manufacturing facilities in India support a robust presence in both local and global markets.
With Tenneco’s continued investments in India, the company aims to drive further innovation and operational excellence in the region. The company’s commitment to growth in India is expected to strengthen its position within the global automotive supply chain, providing innovative products and solutions across various automotive sectors.
