In a strategic move to broaden its portfolio in metal forming and automation, Taylor-Winfield Technologies Inc. has acquired substantially all assets of George A. Mitchell Co., a respected name in push pointing and end forming machinery for the metal tube and pipe industry. Both companies are based in Ohio, with Taylor-Winfield headquartered in Youngstown and George A. Mitchell previously operating out of Boardman.
George A. Mitchell brings decades of specialized experience in manufacturing push pointers, end forming machines, and tooling used in high-precision tube and pipe forming applications. This acquisition allows Taylor-Winfield to seamlessly integrate Mitchell’s well-established product lines into its already extensive suite of welding, joining, and automation solutions.
As part of the transition, eight key employees from George A. Mitchell have joined Taylor-Winfield and will now operate out of the company’s Youngstown facility. Notably, Paul F. Russo, former president and co-owner of George A. Mitchell Co., will continue to lead and support the Mitchell line, ensuring continuity of expertise in the development, servicing, and support of push pointing and cold forming equipment.
This acquisition not only enhances Taylor-Winfield’s technical capabilities in metal forming but also reinforces its commitment to delivering turnkey solutions across the industrial spectrum. The integration of Mitchell’s legacy product lines, spare parts, and services positions Taylor-Winfield to better serve industries demanding precision forming—from automotive and aerospace to energy and construction.
With this move, Taylor-Winfield continues its growth trajectory as a vertically integrated equipment supplier, offering customers expanded solutions and deepened technical support—all under one roof.
