Velo3D Unveils Rapid Production Solutions for Additive Manufacturing!
Velo3D, a leading innovator in metal additive manufacturing (AM), has introduced its new Rapid Production Solutions…
SW North America will conduct live demonstrations of its BA 322i twin-spindle horizontal CNC machining center at the Precision Machining Technology Show (PMTS 2025), held from April 1-3, 2025 at the Huntington Convention Center in Cleveland. The demonstration will showcase the BA 322i producing tibia spacers, a crucial component for knee prosthetics. While the live demonstration will utilize ABS plastic, the real-world applications will involve PEEK, a biocompatible thermoplastic polymer designed to mimic the density of bone.
The BA 322i is designed as a fully independent manufacturing cell, featuring an integrated Fanuc LRmate 200id 7L robot and a workpiece storage unit, allowing the system to operate an entire shift with minimal human interaction. The machining process will be fully automated, with raw stock loaded into the storage elevator, automated processing for OP10 and OP20, and the finished parts efficiently cycled back into storage without any manual intervention beyond loading and unloading.
This demonstration highlights SW North America’s commitment to precision machining through automation and innovation. The BA 322i illustrates how manufacturers can achieve higher productivity, better efficiency, and minimal manual labor in various industries, including medical, automotive, and aerospace.
Andrew Rowley, General Sales Manager at SW North America, emphasized that the BA 322i represents how smart manufacturing solutions can improve both efficiency and quality in today’s production environments. PMTS 2025 offers an opportunity for industry professionals to witness firsthand the capabilities of SW North America’s cutting-edge machinery.
