Steel Warehouse, headquartered in South Bend, Indiana, has announced two senior leadership promotions aimed at strengthening its operations and long-term growth strategy in Mexico. The company operates 18 facilities across North America and internationally and continues to invest in leadership development to support its expanding footprint.

Francisco “Paco” Ponton has been promoted to the role of Country Director – Mexico. Previously serving as Managing Director for the region, Ponton brings extensive experience in cross-border trade and regulatory frameworks. His expertise includes import and export permitting, guidance on Mexico’s IMMEX program to help manufacturers achieve cost efficiencies, and facilitating connections with subject matter experts for site selection and market entry. In his new role, Ponton will oversee strategic direction, regulatory alignment, and business development across Steel Warehouse’s Mexican operations.

In addition, Oscar Sanchez has been promoted to Business Unit Manager of Steel Warehouse – Mexico. Sanchez joined the company two decades ago and has built a strong track record through leadership roles spanning both commercial and operational functions. His deep institutional knowledge and hands-on experience with customers, production, and logistics position him to drive day-to-day performance and operational excellence within the business unit.

Steel Warehouse stated that these promotions reflect the company’s commitment to developing internal talent and ensuring leadership continuity in key markets. Mexico remains a strategically important region for the company, supporting customers in automotive, manufacturing, and industrial sectors that rely on efficient steel processing and reliable supply chains.

By elevating experienced leaders with deep regional and operational expertise, Steel Warehouse aims to further strengthen customer support, optimize cross-border operations, and sustain long-term growth across its Mexican facilities.
