SPS Atlanta 2025: Driving U.S. Manufacturing Forward with Automation and Advanced Learning!

From September 16–18, 2025, the Georgia World Congress Center will host the inaugural U.S. edition of Smart Production Solutions (SPS Atlanta), a premier event dedicated exclusively to industrial automation. Originating from Nuremberg, Germany, SPS has established itself as a global platform for showcasing smart technologies, and its North American debut aims to deliver targeted solutions for the pressing challenges faced by today’s manufacturers.

According to Constantin von Vieregge, President and CEO of Messe Frankfurt Inc., hosting SPS in Atlanta is a natural evolution of the brand, leveraging the Southeast U.S. as a hub for manufacturing innovation. The event will focus on reshoring, enabling companies to achieve faster, more flexible, and cost-efficient local production while strengthening operational control and supply chain resilience.

The exhibition floor will feature leading automation providers such as Siemens, Bosch Rexroth, and Phoenix Contact, covering 13 product categories from robotics and control systems to industrial software and sensors. Attendees can expect a wealth of networking opportunities, connecting engineers, integrators, and decision-makers with manufacturers and suppliers driving automation forward.

A major highlight will be the keynote address by Debra Phillips, President and CEO of the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA), titled “Powering the Electric Future: Technology, Policy and the Path to a Reliable Grid.” Her session will address the urgent need to modernize, secure, and scale the U.S. electrical grid to meet rising energy demands, emphasizing the role of technology and policy in building a sustainable energy infrastructure.

Education is central to SPS Atlanta 2025, with three dedicated show floor theaters — Automation Fundamentals, Expert Exchange, and Trend Talks — offering tailored sessions for professionals at all stages of their automation journey. Topics will range from integrating legacy systems with modern technologies to building scalable IoT ecosystems, leveraging force and vision in automation, and navigating the rapidly evolving automation landscape.

Featured sessions include:

  • Alicia “Ali G” Gilpin on cost-effective strategies for modernizing outdated systems.
  • Ken Crawford and Chris Schulze on the benefits of open IoT ecosystems for scalable, vendor-agnostic solutions.
  • Barry Clark on enhancing automation accuracy through advanced sensing and vision systems.
  • Chris Liu from Siemens on the future trajectory of automation technologies.

The event will also debut an Academic Zone, connecting attendees with students, professors, and research teams working on innovations in smart manufacturing, IIoT, machine learning, and sustainable production.

Jointly organized by Messe Frankfurt Inc., Mesago Messe Frankfurt, and The Association For Manufacturing Technology (AMT), SPS Atlanta 2025 will serve as a catalyst for U.S. manufacturing growth — merging global expertise with regional opportunities to ensure automation truly delivers.
