Set to take place from September 16-18, 2025, at the Georgia World Congress Center, the inaugural edition of Smart Production Solutions (SPS) Atlanta marks a pivotal moment for American industry. As the North American version of Germany’s renowned SPS show in Nuremberg, this focused automation event arrives at a time when reshoring, workforce development, and digital transformation are taking center stage in the U.S. manufacturing ecosystem.
Unlike broader manufacturing expos, SPS Atlanta zeroes in on industrial automation — providing a targeted platform for engineers, decision-makers, and integrators to explore cutting-edge tools and strategies to solve real-world production challenges. Constantin von Vieregge, President and CEO of Messe Frankfurt Inc., emphasized that bringing SPS to Atlanta reflects the region’s importance as a manufacturing and innovation hub, especially in the Southeast.
At the core of the event is a powerful showcase of automation technology — including robotics, sensors, industrial software, and control systems. Leading automation suppliers such as Siemens, Bosch Rexroth, and Phoenix Contact will be on display, offering hands-on demonstrations of their latest innovations. But SPS Atlanta is more than a tech exhibition — it’s a launchpad for reshoring efforts, helping manufacturers adopt scalable and cost-effective automation to strengthen domestic operations and rebuild supply chain resilience.
One of the most anticipated elements of SPS Atlanta 2025 is its robust educational program. With three show-floor theaters — Automation Fundamentals, Expert Exchange, and Trend Talks — the sessions are tailored for attendees at every stage of the automation journey. Topics range from legacy system integration and IoT ecosystems to vision systems and automation strategy, led by industry experts like Ali Gilpin (Process & Controls Engineering), Barry Clark (Bright Machines), and Chris Liu (Siemens).
The event also highlights the intersection of technology and energy policy. Debra Phillips, President and CEO of the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA), will headline the keynote with a presentation titled “Powering the Electric Future: Technology, Policy and the Path to a Reliable Grid.” As demand for electricity skyrockets, Phillips will address how modernizing the U.S. power grid is essential to support advanced manufacturing and a more electrified economy.
To further bridge the gap between academia and industry, SPS Atlanta will debut an Academic Zone — a dedicated space for students, professors, and researchers to showcase projects around smart manufacturing, AI, IIoT, and sustainable production. This feature not only fosters collaboration but also helps manufacturers tap into the next generation of skilled talent and innovative thinking.
Organized by Messe Frankfurt Inc., Mesago Messe Frankfurt, and The Association For Manufacturing Technology (AMT), SPS Atlanta is more than just an exhibition — it’s a strategic initiative to equip North American manufacturers with the knowledge, tools, and partnerships they need to thrive in an automation-first future.
With registration now open, SPS Atlanta 2025 is poised to become a cornerstone event for the U.S. manufacturing community — where innovation meets implementation, and automation delivers.
