South Korean solar panel maker Qcells to construct $2.5 billion solar power manufacturing plant in United States

Qcells, a subsidiary of Hanwha Solutions, plans to construct a solar power manufacturing facility in Georgia, US, with a $2.5 billion investment, the largest of its kind in the US.

Gray Construction and Stantec have been selected to provide services for the project.

Qcells hopes to increase solar module production capacity in the US from 1.7 gigawatts in 2022 to 8.4 gigawatts by 2024. The project is expected to create around 2,500 new jobs and will bring significant economic benefits to both the state and national economies.
