Sigmetrix Unveils CETOL 6σ v12.1 for Advanced 3D Tolerance Analysis!

Sigmetrix has announced the release of CETOL 6σ version 12.1, its latest update to the renowned tolerance analysis software, now available for immediate download. CETOL 6σ is designed to help businesses enhance profitability by balancing product quality with manufacturing costs, reducing design and prototype cycle times, and enabling confident decision-making in product development. By providing deeper insights into dimensional and assembly variation, CETOL 6σ allows manufacturers to resolve issues before they arise in production or, more critically, in the hands of customers.

The latest version builds upon the powerful features of previous releases and introduces several key improvements aimed at enhancing usability, compliance, and overall functionality. These enhancements include improved support for ISO GPS standards and advanced tools for defining joint controls, which streamline the process of managing complex assemblies.

Key Features of CETOL 6σ v12.1

  1. Improved ISO GPS Compliance: The software now better supports patterns per ISO GPS standards, including the correct application of the Combined Zone (CZ) modifier and proper referencing of datum patterns. This ensures precise and compliant annotations when importing Creo and NX files into CETOL.
  2. Streamlined Joint Controls: CETOL 6σ v12.1 introduces several enhancements to joint control definitions, such as improved automated Joint Degrees of Freedom (DOF) settings when importing assembly constraints, and tools to help users define specific directions when biasing joints between cylindrical features. Additionally, simplified tools for orienting joints for fasteners and alignment pins make the assembly process faster and more accurate.
  3. Enhanced Assembly State Assignment: New tools are available to easily understand and manage assembly state assignments across parts, subassemblies, and joints. The improved support for inseparable assemblies now includes the ability to import assembly constraints referencing features within such assemblies, ensuring more robust and accurate modeling.
  4. Support for Projected Tolerance Zones: Users now have the ability to define and manage projected tolerance zones, a valuable feature for managing complex assembly variations in large-scale projects.
  5. Improved CAD Integration: The new version improves the integration with major CAD systems like Creo and NX, enabling users to import assembly constraints directly to create joints, automatically define Product Manufacturing Information (PMI) from tolerances, and enhance the overall design process. Additionally, a rollback bar similar to that in various CAD systems is now included to easily track and reverse changes in models.
  6. Multi-Language Support: As with previous versions, CETOL 6σ v12.1 is available in multiple languages, including English, Japanese, and Simplified Chinese, ensuring that the software can be utilized globally across different markets.

Stephen Werst, Director of Customer Success and Product Strategy at Sigmetrix, emphasized the significance of this release, stating, “CETOL 6σ v12.1 is yet another significant step forward for Sigmetrix as we strive to achieve feature parity across all supported CAD platforms, continue to make the software easier to use, and extend CETOL from just an analysis tool to one that can help make better design decisions as early in the process as possible.”

This version of CETOL 6σ continues Sigmetrix’s commitment to helping businesses improve mechanical variation management through software, training, and consulting services. By integrating advanced features into the design workflow, CETOL 6σ helps manufacturers build better products, improve production efficiency, and lower costs.

Alongside CETOL 6σ, Sigmetrix offers other products such as EZtol, a 1D tolerance analysis solution, VariSight, an enterprise-level tool for managing mechanical variation data, and GD&T Advisor, which provides expert guidance on the correct application of GD&T principles. Sigmetrix also offers comprehensive training programs and consulting services to assist teams in overcoming variation-related challenges in product development and manufacturing.
