Setco, a Holden Industries subsidiary, has purchased the assets of GTI Spindle Technology. Setco and GTI are the two major spindle repair companies in the United States, serving all OEM brands worldwide.
Setco has nine global locations dedicated to the maintenance, design, and manufacture of customised spindles for a wide range of applications. GTI provides spindle service capabilities from its three North American locations in New Hampshire, Illinois, and North Carolina, as well as spindle analysis tools such as vibration analysis, condition monitoring, and predictive maintenance tools and services.
Setco’s 111-year legacy of production and service quality, combined with GTI’s 26-year expertise in precision spindle repair and analysis tools, provides enormous prospects for expansion and extended capabilities to the machine tool industry.
“Our two companies share a common passion for new technology, customer service, and quality,” adds Setco president Jim Broz. “We look forward to serving customers with expanded technology and capabilities as our organisations begin to operate together.”
GTI and Setco’s combined expertise are believed to create an organisation with considerable depth in engineering capabilities, locations, and equipment. “This move allows us to work together to develop new technologies and deliver faster and better services to the market,” says GTI president Tom Hoenig. “As we move forward, both Setco and GTI customers will benefit from this collaboration.”
