Schütte Grinding Machine Minimizes Cycle Times for High-Precision Tool Grinding!

At PMTS 2025, Schütte Corp. showcased its cutting-edge 335Linear five-axis all-linear precision universal grinding machine, designed for high-precision tool and cutter grinding. This advanced machine is engineered to minimize cycle times while producing high-quality tools and parts. With features like structural rigidity, rapid wheel change capabilities (with up to a 24-wheel magazine), and a high-torque, high-speed grinding spindle capable of reaching speeds up to 24,000 rpm, the 335Linear offers significant improvements in both efficiency and precision.

The 335Linear features a spacious work area with an X-axis of 8.9″, a Y-axis of 9.84″, and a Z-axis of 10.24″, offering a resolution of less than 0.000004″ in the Y- and Z-axes. The machine can achieve maximum feeds in the X and Z axes of up to 945 ipm and accelerations of up to 1 g, with speeds of up to 48 m/min, making it suitable for the most demanding applications.

To further enhance automation and minimize human intervention, the 335Linear can be equipped with various integrated automation options, such as pallet, chain magazine, or robotic systems for unmanned operation. The machine is also supported by Schütte’s SIGSpro software, which is set up to handle multiple types of fluting operations, facet and eccentric reliefs, and even specialized operations like drill points and trepan operations.

Additionally, the integrated 3D simulation tool allows users to visualize the exact tool that will be ground before the process even begins, ensuring greater accuracy and reduced material waste. The 335Linear’s versatility and precision make it an ideal solution for high-quality grinding across various industries.
