
Schneider Electric appoints Sumati Sahgal to lead Data Centres & Secure Power business in India!
Schneider Electric has announced the appointment of Sumati Sahgal as Vice President – Secure Power and Data Centres for the Greater India Zone. The leadership elevation reflects the company’s strategic focus on strengthening its digital infrastructure business and accelerating growth in one of its most important global markets.
In her new role, Sahgal will take full responsibility for Schneider Electric’s Secure Power and Data Centre portfolio across India. Her mandate includes driving business performance, executing strategic initiatives and enhancing customer engagement across enterprise, cloud and service provider segments. The appointment comes at a time when demand for data centre infrastructure is rapidly increasing, driven by the growth of artificial intelligence, cloud computing and digital transformation initiatives.
According to Deepak Sharma, Zone President – Greater India and CEO of Schneider Electric India, Sahgal’s cross-industry experience and leadership capabilities position her well to lead the next phase of growth. He emphasized that her ability to drive transformation and build strong ecosystems will be critical in expanding Schneider Electric’s presence in the secure power and data centre space.
Sahgal highlighted that the rapid evolution of AI and digital technologies is reshaping infrastructure requirements. She noted that modern data centres must be built on integrated systems that combine reliable power, efficient cooling and intelligent management solutions. Her focus will be on delivering scalable, energy-efficient and resilient infrastructure to support this next generation of digital demand.
A key part of her strategy will involve leveraging Schneider Electric’s comprehensive “Grid to Chip” and “Chip to Chiller” solutions portfolio. This integrated approach combines power distribution, cooling technologies, software and digital services to optimize data centre performance and sustainability. Under her leadership, the company aims to strengthen its position as a provider of AI-ready infrastructure solutions.
Sahgal will also focus on expanding Schneider Electric’s partner ecosystem, strengthening go-to-market strategies and deepening customer relationships. These efforts are expected to support profitable growth while enhancing the company’s ability to deliver end-to-end solutions for critical infrastructure.
Prior to this role, Sahgal served as Vice President – Home Solutions at Schneider Electric India, where she led the Homes and Distribution business. During her tenure, she played a key role in driving product innovation, building brand presence and strengthening market positioning in a competitive environment.
With over two decades of experience across technology and telecommunications sectors, Sahgal brings strong expertise in business transformation, P&L management and customer-centric growth strategies. She holds an MBA in Marketing from Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies and a Bachelor of Commerce from University of Delhi.
This leadership appointment underscores Schneider Electric’s commitment to developing internal talent and investing in India’s rapidly expanding digital ecosystem.
