Roxtec Middle East Reports Record Growth in Regional Power Sector Amid Surge in Clean Energy Projects

Roxtec Middle East FZE, the Dubai-based subsidiary of global safety seal specialist Roxtec, has announced its strongest trading year to date within the power industry across the MENA region. Operating from its headquarters in Jebel Ali Freezone, the company has reported a 20% year-on-year growth in its power division and expanded its team to 20, with new sales managers appointed in Basra, Iraq and Tunisia to support regional demand.

The record year follows Roxtec’s involvement in several high-profile projects, most notably Project Lightning, the Middle East’s first subsea cable transmission project. Valued at $3.8 billion, the project links ADNOC’s offshore operations to the UAE’s onshore power grid using a high-voltage direct-current (HVDC) system. Roxtec provided bespoke cable sealing solutions to manage complex transitions between AC and DC power across sea and land interfaces.

Roxtec’s power and processing manager, Ihab Zourob, said the company’s growing profile in the energy sector was showcased during the recent Middle East Energy trade show held in April at the Dubai World Trade Centre. “The last year has been very strong for Roxtec in the power industry,” he said. “As the UAE and wider Gulf region continue their push toward net-zero targets, the demand for more sophisticated and robust cable sealing solutions is accelerating.”

Roxtec’s sealing systems are engineered to protect infrastructure, personnel, and equipment from a range of hazards including explosions, electromagnetic interference, fire, and flooding. These capabilities have made Roxtec a sought-after partner for projects in solar, wind, green hydrogen, nuclear, and battery storage – in addition to traditional oil and gas operations.

Zourob added: “With the rise of clean and alternative power sources in MENA, sealing solutions must withstand a broader and more complex array of environmental and operational challenges. Our experience across Europe’s wind farms, nuclear facilities, and global subsea cable installations gives us a major edge in delivering tailored, high-performance sealing systems here in the Gulf.”

Looking ahead, Roxtec expects continued demand for its technologies as energy diversification efforts expand across the region. The company remains focused on localised support and engineering excellence to meet the evolving requirements of the Middle East’s energy infrastructure.
