Rockwell Automation and AWS Partner to Accelerate Digital Transformation in Manufacturing!

Rockwell Automation and Amazon Web Services (AWS) have announced a strategic collaboration aimed at accelerating the digital transformation of the manufacturing industry. This partnership combines Rockwell’s expertise in operational technology (OT) with AWS’s cloud services and global infrastructure to offer scalable, secure, and flexible solutions for manufacturers. By integrating these technologies, the companies aim to help manufacturers optimize asset performance, enhance operational visibility, and gain actionable insights from raw data, thus enabling a more efficient and data-driven manufacturing process.

The collaboration leverages Rockwell Automation’s deep industry knowledge and innovative automation solutions, which are now integrated with AWS’s powerful cloud capabilities. This synergy allows manufacturers to more effectively utilize advanced analytics, artificial intelligence (AI), and industrial software applications. The partnership particularly benefits industries such as life sciences, automotive, battery production, and consumer packaged goods. By connecting factory floor data directly to the cloud, the collaboration enables greater visibility, predictive maintenance, and more intelligent decision-making processes.

Nicole Denil, Vice President of Global Market Access at Rockwell Automation, emphasized the importance of flexibility, scalability, and security in today’s industrial environment. She stated, “By collaborating with AWS, we are unlocking new opportunities for AI-driven insights, edge-to-cloud connectivity, and industrial automation advancements. This collaboration allows us to meet customers where they are and enable them to run on their cloud platform of choice.”

As part of this partnership, Rockwell is expanding its software-as-a-service (SaaS) offerings within its FactoryTalk Hub to AWS, making tools like the DataMosaix industrial DataOps solution and Fiix computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) available in the AWS Marketplace. These solutions, which enhance asset management and optimize operations, are now more accessible to manufacturers using AWS’s robust cloud infrastructure. FactoryTalk Hub solutions will be gradually made available in the AWS Marketplace throughout the year, further strengthening Rockwell’s cloud-based offerings.

AWS’s commitment to industrial sectors is underscored by its investments in advanced technologies, which align with Rockwell’s focus on key industrial markets. Ozgur Tohumcu, General Manager of Automotive and Manufacturing at AWS, noted that the partnership would empower manufacturers to make faster decisions by turning operational data into actionable insights with AWS cloud intelligence.

The partnership will be showcased at the Hannover Messe 2025, where Rockwell will present live demonstrations of its cloud-enabled industrial solutions at the AWS booth. Visitors will have the chance to experience key Rockwell solutions, now integrated with AWS, including:

  • FactoryTalk DataMosaix: A cloud-based data management platform that improves industrial data accessibility and insight generation, powered by Rockwell’s collaboration with Cognite.
  • Fiix CMMS: A solution that helps manufacturers optimize asset performance and maintenance, leveraging AWS’s cloud infrastructure.
  • Production Logistics: A comprehensive solution for managing autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) and optimizing real-time production scheduling using AI powered by AWS.

The collaboration between Rockwell Automation and AWS marks a significant step in transforming the manufacturing industry. Together, the two companies are not just providing technology solutions, but also helping industrial enterprises become more agile, efficient, and competitive. As manufacturers continue to face evolving challenges, this partnership paves the way for smarter manufacturing processes and greater innovation.

This collaboration represents a forward-looking approach to modernizing manufacturing systems and integrating cloud-based intelligence into operational workflows, positioning manufacturers to thrive in the increasingly digital landscape.
