RIR Power Electronics Appoints N. Ramesh Kumar as Managing Director and CEO!
RIR Power Electronics Limited has announced the appointment of N. Ramesh Kumar as its Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, effective February 11, 2026. The leadership transition marks a new phase for the company as it prepares to strengthen its execution capabilities and expand its presence in the global power semiconductor market.
Ramesh G Trasi, who has led the company as CEO for more than 22 years, will transition into the role of Chief Technology Officer. In this capacity, he will continue to guide RIR’s technology development and innovation roadmap, ensuring continuity in product advancement and research initiatives.
N. Ramesh Kumar brings over 42 years of leadership experience spanning sales and marketing, business development and full profit-and-loss management across diverse product portfolios and international markets. His career has been defined by building scalable operations, expanding market reach and driving new product introductions through structured execution and customer engagement.
Prior to joining RIR, Kumar served as Global Business Head – Industrial Products and Solutions at CG Power and Industrial Solutions Limited, where he managed large-scale operations and consistently delivered business performance across complex markets. As a member of the company’s Executive Committee, he contributed to strategic decision-making while maintaining close engagement with customers, channel partners and internal teams.
Most recently, Kumar was Chief Executive Officer at Diffusion Engineers Limited, overseeing manufacturing facilities in India and overseas, along with regional sales operations. His experience in managing multi-location manufacturing environments and global business portfolios is expected to support RIR’s expansion plans.
Commenting on the appointment, Non-Executive Chairman Dr Harshad Mehta stated that Kumar’s extensive leadership experience will be instrumental as RIR enters its next growth phase. He emphasized that the new CEO’s background in scaling businesses and strengthening operational focus will support the company’s ambition to expand its footprint in the global power semiconductor industry.
