Renishaw introduces FixtureBuilder 3D fixture-modelling software through a new subscription service, offering customers a complimentary 12-month subscription with qualifying metrology fixturing product or bundle purchases. This user-friendly software enables swift creation and documentation of advanced CAD-based metrology fixturing setups for efficient and consistent part inspection. Users have access to Renishaw’s complete catalog of metrology fixturing components for designing and documenting modular fixturing setups.
FixtureBuilder software features an intuitive interface with organized component libraries, drag-and-drop functionality, and a constraint mechanism for easy use. Its full CAD compatibility and customizable libraries enhance the user experience. Notably, the “Build It” function automates work instruction and bill of materials generation for each fixture setup, simplifying component purchasing and ensuring quality standards compliance.
Will Paul, Product Marketing Manager, emphasizes FixtureBuilder’s role in enhancing manufacturers’ inspection workflows, addressing potential weaknesses in the inspection process related to fixture setup design and documentation speed. FixtureBuilder 8.1, the latest version, allows for rapid fixture setup design and seamless export to inspection programming software using popular file formats like IGES, SAT, and STEP.
Renishaw, known for its comprehensive product portfolio including industrial metrology hardware and software, additive manufacturing solutions, and position measurement technologies, offers a range of modular and custom fixturing and software for co-ordinate measuring machines, Equator™ gauges, and vision systems. Renishaw’s modular CMM fixtures are adaptable to provide complete fixturing solutions for parts of varying sizes, shapes, and materials.
