Remembering Machine Tool Industry Icon Barry Rogers

The machine tool industry mourns the loss of Barry Rogers, an influential figure whose career spanned over 50 years. Barry Rogers passed away suddenly on May 18, 2024. His extensive career included over 20 years in senior sales, marketing, and engineering roles at Renishaw Inc.

“Barry had a pronounced influence on our sales and marketing team that continues today,” says Denis Zayia, President of Renishaw Americas. “He worked and lived passionately, and whether he was creating sales strategies, cooking, hunting, or riding motorcycles, Barry did it with contagious enthusiasm. He was truly one of a kind.”

Rogers began his career as a Journeyman Tool & Die apprentice with Microswitch, a division of Honeywell. His career included significant roles at John Deere Harvester and LK Metrology before he joined Renishaw. After his tenure at Renishaw, Rogers contributed to Sunnen Products Company and served as the VP Global Director of Sales for Haas Automation. He later founded his consulting company, Alpha Strategies.

A celebration of Barry Rogers’ life will be held on Friday, June 7, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. in South Elgin, Illinois.
