Raghu Vamsi Aerospace Group has announced a major expansion of India’s defence manufacturing ecosystem with the launch of a new advanced design, production, and systems integration campus, alongside the unveiling of six fully indigenous unmanned and autonomous defence platforms. Branded under its DeepTech vertical Arrobot, the initiative represents a decisive step in India’s push toward self-reliant, next-generation defence technologies, backed by an investment of over ₹100 crore in infrastructure and innovation.

The newly commissioned Citadel Campus, located at Hardware Park near Hyderabad International Airport, significantly enhances Raghu Vamsi’s capabilities across design engineering, system integration, assembly, and testing. The facility builds on the Group’s existing manufacturing footprint and is designed to support faster development cycles, scalable production, and mission-critical delivery for Indian defence programmes as well as international customers. With this campus, the Group strengthens its ability to transition from component manufacturing to full-system ownership in complex defence platforms.

Operating across 10 manufacturing locations in India, the US, and the UK, and supported by a workforce of more than 1,000 professionals, Raghu Vamsi Aerospace Group has established itself as a key supplier of aero-engine and missile subsystems to global OEMs and Indian defence public sector units. The new campus deepens this role by anchoring advanced unmanned systems, propulsion technologies, and autonomous combat platforms within India.

Alongside the infrastructure expansion, the Group unveiled a portfolio of advanced defence platforms reflecting India’s rapidly growing expertise in unmanned and autonomous systems. These include jet-powered loitering munitions, decoy and target drones, tethered surveillance platforms, air-launched missile systems, micro turbojet engines, long-endurance kamikaze UAVs, unmanned ground vehicles, autonomous combat systems, and robotic aircraft maintenance solutions. Designed for surveillance, deep-strike missions, logistics, and battlefield support, several of these systems offer operational ranges beyond 300 km and speeds of up to 650 kmph.

Flagship platforms such as RV Astra, RV Maya, RV Lakshya, RV Rudra, RV Indra, RV Yodha, and RV Drishti highlight India’s shift from dependence on imported UAVs and propulsion systems toward in-country design, testing, and large-scale manufacturing of advanced autonomous defence technologies. This transition aligns closely with national objectives under Atmanirbhar Bharat and defence export promotion initiatives.

To further strengthen indigenous development and global competitiveness, Raghu Vamsi has signed four strategic Memorandums of Understanding. These include collaboration with the Indian Army’s 515 Base Workshop for co-design, testing, and validation of advanced drone platforms; a partnership with Bharat Dynamics Limited for the joint development of fully indigenous 200 kgf thrust-class engines; an academic collaboration with IIIT Hyderabad focusing on AI-driven autonomy and swarm intelligence; and a technology partnership with ARCI to advance aero-engine manufacturing through additive manufacturing, laser cladding, and thermal barrier coatings.

The launch event brought together senior leaders from India’s defence, scientific, and strategic community, underscoring the national importance of the initiative. Commenting on the expansion, Vamsi Vikas, Founder and Managing Director of Raghu Vamsi Aerospace Group, said the move reflects India’s growing confidence in building advanced aerospace and defence systems domestically. He emphasized that the focus extends beyond capacity creation to delivering globally competitive platforms engineered for future warfare and powered by Indian talent.

Founded in 2002, Raghu Vamsi Aerospace Group has evolved into an AS9100D- and NADCAP-certified consortium with annual revenues exceeding ₹500 crore. Serving aerospace, defence, space, medical, energy, and industrial sectors, the Group’s end-to-end capabilities—from design and CNC machining to composites, electronics, surface treatments, and system integration—have positioned it as a trusted Tier-1 supplier to Indian organizations and leading global OEMs alike.
