PURE has officially launched its 5 MWh grid-scale battery storage system, PuREPower Grid, in Delhi, marking a significant step in the country’s push toward enhancing its energy storage capabilities. This containerized product integrates solar, PCS (Power Conversion Systems), and cutting-edge battery technology to deliver reliable, efficient, and scalable energy storage solutions.
The PuREPower Grid system has received strong interest, with over 10 leading renewable energy EPC players and major industries expressing interest in its capabilities. As India accelerates its transition to renewable energy, the demand for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) is expected to exceed $36 billion by the end of this decade. This growth is driven by the country’s ambitious goal of integrating 500 GW of renewable energy and 200 GWh of BESS by 2030.
PuREPower Grid is built with high energy density batteries, fifth-generation power electronics, and cloud-based predictive AI, offering seamless remote monitoring and 100% uptime. The system is designed to efficiently store and distribute energy from solar and wind sources, ensuring grid stability while enabling greater integration of renewables into the country’s energy mix.
One of the key features of PuREPower Grid is its multi-level thermal management/cooling system, designed to optimize performance and longevity. The system includes nano-PCM cooling at the cell level, liquid cooling at the pack level, and rack-level cooling. This innovative cooling technology ensures efficient heat dissipation, which enhances the system’s round-trip efficiency and extends its lifespan, while also providing world-class safety to mitigate potential risks.
The PuREPower Grid is engineered not only for performance but also for cost-efficiency and safety. Its competitive pricing and readily available local servicing with spare parts ensure that energy stakeholders can benefit from superior asset management, driving down operating costs. The design and technological advancements incorporated into the product make it a highly reliable and intelligent solution for energy storage, ready to support India’s grid stability as the country moves toward renewable energy sources.
In addition to its primary use in solar and wind projects, large commercial and industrial facilities, and renewable energy projects, PuREPower Grid is poised to play a key role in the development of EV fast charging stations across the country. As the number of electric vehicles (EVs) continues to grow, PuREPower Grid will help eliminate the need for expensive and time-consuming activities like transformer upgrades, right-of-way, and distribution upgrades, making the adoption of fast chargers for EVs much more accessible and cost-effective.
According to Dr. Nishanth Dongari, PURE’s representative, “PuREPower Grid is not just a product; it’s a catalyst for India’s energy transformation. By harnessing our deep expertise in battery technology and power electronics, we’ve created a grid-scale product that is powerful, intelligent, and cost-effective. It will contribute to grid stability and seamlessly integrate renewables while driving EV fast charger adoption.”
With the launch of PuREPower Grid in Delhi, PURE is not only contributing to India’s renewable energy efforts but also addressing the pressing need for reliable and efficient energy storage solutions. The system’s advanced features, including high energy density batteries, intelligent AI monitoring, and innovative thermal management, position it as a leading choice for renewable energy projects, industrial applications, and EV infrastructure. As the country works towards its 2030 goals, PuREPower Grid will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless transition to sustainable energy.
