Polestar is the latest EV manufacturer to adopt Tesla’s charging standard

Polestar has inked an agreement with Tesla to implement the new North American Charging Standard (NACS), which will allow all Polestar drivers in the United States and Canada to use Tesla’s extensive Supercharger network.

From 2025, all new Polestar vehicles sold in North America will come standard with the NACS charging port. Adapters to let existing Polestar drivers have convenient network access are scheduled in mid-2024.

“This is a fantastic victory for our North American customers!” With 12,000 charging points now and more on the way, this move will significantly accelerate EV adoption in a crucial automotive region, according to CEO Thomas Ingenlath.

The deal covers both existing and future Polestar models. Future NACS-equipped Polestar vehicles will include a CCS adapter to ensure interoperability with existing CCS public fast charging infrastructure in North America.
