Flow control technology specialist Oxford Flow has formally entered the Japanese market through a new distribution and collaboration agreement with VENN, a Japan-based provider of fluid control valves. The partnership marks an important milestone in Oxford Flow’s international expansion strategy and signals growing recognition of its valve technology in one of the world’s most quality-driven and technically demanding industrial markets. The agreement also establishes a platform for further growth across the Asia-Pacific region.
Under the terms of the agreement, VENN will act as Oxford Flow’s official distributor in Japan, offering the company’s complete product portfolio to customers across the country. This includes supplying advanced valve solutions and providing specialist technical support to industrial operators and major EPC contractors. The initial focus will center on gas pressure regulators and liquid pressure regulators for water applications, both of which are experiencing sustained demand in Japan’s infrastructure and industrial sectors.
The collaboration reflects Oxford Flow’s broader strategy of strengthening its global presence through partnerships with established regional players. By working with experienced local companies, the firm aims to ensure customers receive in-country service, technical engagement and application support tailored to local regulatory and operational requirements. This localized approach is particularly important in Japan, where engineering standards, reliability expectations and long-term performance are critical factors in supplier selection.
Japan is currently investing heavily in upgrading ageing gas and water infrastructure while accelerating automation and the adoption of high-performance control systems. These developments are increasing demand for reliable, efficient and low-maintenance flow control solutions. Oxford Flow’s technology, designed to reduce emissions, improve operational efficiency and enhance system reliability, aligns closely with these market trends. Its valve designs emphasize fewer moving parts and durable materials, helping operators lower maintenance costs while supporting decarbonisation initiatives and hydrogen integration into energy networks.
Neil Poxon, CEO of Oxford Flow, highlighted Japan as a significant opportunity due to its advanced industrial base and strong emphasis on engineering excellence, safety and operational performance. He noted that VENN’s established presence and technical expertise within the Japanese market make it an ideal partner, capable not only of distributing products but also of delivering high-level customer engagement and support.
Kazumi Suzuki, CEO of VENN, stated that combining Oxford Flow’s valve innovation with VENN’s local market knowledge will enable the delivery of more efficient and sustainable flow control solutions to Japanese customers. He added that the partnership is expected to contribute to the continued development of Japan’s valve industry while supporting key infrastructure and energy projects nationwide.
Headquartered in Oxford, United Kingdom, Oxford Flow was founded by engineers from the University of Oxford and specializes in advanced valve technologies for oil and gas, water management and chemical processing industries. Through this strategic partnership, the company strengthens its global footprint while positioning itself to capitalize on Japan’s infrastructure modernization and energy transition initiatives.
